Roulette

Place your bets and roll the wheel, but before you do, read through this overview of roulette.
Practice Roulette:

In common with a number of classic casino games, roulette traces its history back to 18th century France. Migrating to North America at the turn of the 20th century, the original game used a spinning wheel with the numbers 1 to 28, a single and double zero, and, of course, an emblem of the American bald eagle. As the game developed in Europe, numbers from 1 to 36 appeared on the wheel with only one zero, or "everyone loses except the bank" number slot.

Game play essentially involves gamblers placing their bets on the roulette gambling table. This is structured with the numbers 1 to 36 making up the body of the board, and other betting options including: first, second, and third dozen, first second and third columns, first 18 numbers and second 18 numbers, odds and evens, reds and blacks. Players place their bets until the dealer calls for no more bets. The dealer spins the roulette wheel and runs the steel roulette ball around the rim until gravity pulls it into its winning slot. The dealer pays out the winnings according to the bets on the table.

Betting options enable players to cover bets. For example a player can bet on 0, 1, 2, and 3 using one chip, although the odds will be reduced to one quarter of the face value of the betting token. Other variants exist according to the casino rules of any particular establishment. Roulette is vibrant, exciting, and captures the imagination like no other casino game.

Game play summary:

  • Players place their bets on the roulette table
  • Dealer spins the wheel and rolls the steel ball
  • Dealer calls no more bets as the ball is about the land
  • Players receive their winnings according the ball's final landing position
